Dr. James M. Flournoy, Jr., Ph.D.

Dr. Flournoy is a licensed clinical psychologist. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa in 2002 after completing his internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and being named intern of the year. Dr. Flournoy then completed a postdoctoral fellowship through the UAB Department of Psychiatry and Neurobiology, with a focus on diagnosing and treating impulsive and addictive behaviors. Dr. Flournoy has experience in evaluating and treating a wide range of psychiatric difficulties in adults that include depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, and addiction. He currently works as Alabama Psychiatry’s Consulting Psychologist for Brookwood Baptist Health Hospitals, where he provides both psychotherapy and assessment services. On an outpatient basis, he performs adult psychological evaluations for referral questions such as ADHD.
