Jamie Thompson, LICSW, PIP

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, with a Private Independent Practice. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Jacksonville State University and then obtained my Masters in Social Work Direct Practice at Troy University Dothan. While attending Troy University I completed an internship at Vivian B. Adams School in the Local Education Agency Services and a South Alabama Regional Area Agency on Aging. I have experience in direct care through my experiences as a case management social worker in a hospital setting and providing social work services with home health. I believe in providing individualized treatment to those that I work with to help navigate the transitions that occur in one’s life. I have experience working with children and adolescents primarily with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Anxiety utilizing evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Social Skills, Parent Management Training, crisis intervention and mindfulness practices. I have received training in Rubi Parent training to help reduce disruptive behaviors with younger children with Autism. I am also level one certified in Radically Open-Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which is used to treat disorders related to over control and I am currently working on a certification in Mindfulness.
