Meredith Sawyer is a board certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. Meredith earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in 2013 and continued her education to complete her Master’s of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors in 2017. She holds two national board certifications as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner as well as a family nurse practitioner. Meredith has a diverse clinical background and has worked at Vanderbilt University Hospital and several other organizations. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau, and Central Alabama Nurse Practitioner Association. Meredith joined Alabama Psychiatry in December of 2017. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence-based care to her patients. She has experience working with clients of all ages and with many different mental health concerns, including anxiety, panic disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, insomnia, schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, and management of dementia with behavioral disturbances. She is now accepting new patients at the Sylacauga and Alexander City location.
