Pam Callaghan, LICSW, PIP is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, licensed by the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners. Ms. Callaghan has practiced Social Work since completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 1989. She graduated in 2000 with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama. She earned her LICSW in 2003 and began providing therapy to children and adults. Ms. Callaghan retired from the State Department of Human Resources in 2018 and has extensive knowledge of the child welfare system in Alabama along with family issues. She has provided clinical services in a variety of settings; inpatient, outpatient and in client’s homes. She has been seeing children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of issues; including behavior issues, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, self-esteem issues, Bipolar Disorder, Parenting issues, relationship issues and grief. She displays an empathetic, respectful, and non-judgmental environment with a caring, patient personality. She brings years of experience and wisdom and compassion into her treatment. Ms. Callaghan uses a variety of interventions to help people gain insight and motivation to improve their mental health. She uses evidence based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, Interpersonal Therapy and Rogerian Therapy along with Psychodynamic Therapy. She treats each person as an individual and tailors their treatment to meet their individual needs. Ms. Callaghan believes that each area of our life influences our mental health and works to empower people to manage their lives.
