When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My great passion is helping people who have been through a traumatic or stressful experience find their voice and take charge of their illness through education about their options. Because no one approach works for every person, I help my clients understand more about their condition and the available modes of treatment including medications and therapy.
My educational background includes a Master of Science in Nursing from UAB with a nationally accredited board certification as Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have worked in the mental health field for five years. I also have degrees with concentrations in criminal and civil law which helps me understand some of the unusual challenges my patients face.
Finally, I am a daughter, sister, wife, and mother. I think it makes it easier to understand the struggles that families are going through and helps me guide my clients to better manage their illness based on their unique perspectives and family dynamics. I heavily focus on goal setting and gauging outcomes. I truly want to see my patients live their best life. My clients describe me as warm, caring, and knowledgeable about not only medicine, but how the world around us works.
