Ricky Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree Psychology from La Salle University and a master’s degree in Social Emotional Learning from National University. Prior to joining Alabama Psychiatry, Ricky worked as an adolescent counselor for At-Risk Youth and teenagers committed to the Department of Youth Services. After receiving his associates degree in Human Services/Social Work he worked with mentally challenged adults in a day habilitation school teaching individuals daily independent living skills. He is an advocate in the positive promotion of mental health and social emotional learning. He believes in providing individuals and families with education, resources, and support in the treatment of mental health.
