Kayla Bevels is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who completed her psychiatric certificate program in 2021 at the University of Alabama. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Alabama in 2020 and is also a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Since graduating with her BSN in 2016 from Jacksonville State University, her main concentration has been in psychiatry, but she also carries pediatric med/surg experience.
Kayla has many years of psychiatric experience which began with geriatric psych patients as a tech while pursuing her BSN. Since then, she has worked with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as a nurse in multiple states and facilities. Kayla sees patients in the inpatient setting at Brookwood Medical Center along with outpatient clinic at the Pelham location and will be seeing patients in the future at Cahaba Mental Health Center in Selma, AL.
Kayla has experience in treating ADHD, ODD, ASD, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder. She is specifically passionate about the child/adolescent population and recognizes the importance of early intervention for optimal outcomes in adulthood.
Kayla and her husband enjoy traveling in their free time and watching Alabama football.
