The integration of behavioral health into medical practices is fast becoming the go to model for patient care. The ability of interdisciplinary providers to be in proximity, provides quick avenues of collaboration that patients in the modern world have come to expect. While we have not yet reached the level of medical integration in our clinics, we have do strive to operate on an integrated behavioral health model. In this model, patients can see their prescriber of medications, psychiatrist, or psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and their therapist – psychologist, licensed clinical social worker, or licensed professional counselor in the same location.
Here too, the proximity of the providers, and the fact that they are on the same team at the same company allows our providers to have a robust, informed view of each of our patients; and allows us to provide the kind of collaborative care our patients desire.
