Phillip Walker is a certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. He earned a Bachelors in Nursing from Western Kentucky University in 2009 and since has obtained a Masters in Nursing from Western Kentucky University in 2015. He has focused his entire nursing career in providing care for patients with mental illness, first in the patient setting at Rivendell Behavioral Health Services as the charge nurse from 2010 to 2015. In 2015 Phillip began to serve patients in the outpatient setting at DBT Center of Western Kentucky. He Joined Kentucky Psychiatry when Alabama Psychiatry acquired the practice in May 2017, and primarily serves the child, adolescent, and adult populations.
Joy Cornelius is a certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She first obtained a Bachelors in Nursing in 1997 from the University of Louisville and continued her education to receive a Masters in Nursing in 2002 from Western Kentucky University. After completing both degrees, she received further training and education and obtained a Post Masters Certificate in Psychiatry and Mental Health. Since beginning her career, Joy has practiced nursing in both the in-patient and out-patient settings. She first focused on providing affordable healthcare services through a local community center as a family nurse practitioner, and in 2012 began serving patients with mental health needs. Joy joined Kentucky Psychiatry when Alabama Psychiatry acquired the practice in 2017. She provides services to the child, adolescent, and adult populations.
Denise Champagne is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Minor in Criminology in 1997, then continued her education and earned a Masters in Social Work in 2002. Since beginning her career in social work, Denise has served clients in a variety of settings and in different capacities, all of which were dedicated to providing excellent mental health services. She has experience in direct practice and has also been a Director of Clinical Services. Denise began providing therapy services at DBT Center of Western Kentucky in 2013 and joined Kentucky Psychiatry when Alabama Psychiatry acquired the practice in 2017. She is trained to provide Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and serves the child, adolescent, and adult populations.
