Dr. Annie Andrews DO

Annie Andrews, DO, is a board-certified psychiatrist who practices inpatient and outpatient psychiatric medicine for River Region Psychiatry Associates. Dr. Andrews has been trained in all facets of psychiatry but specializes in mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. Dr. Andrews also has experience in cutting-edge psychiatric treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and intranasal ketamine therapy.

Dr. Andrews completed her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Auburn University. She particularly enjoyed studying psychology and went to medical school with a desire to become a psychiatrist. She graduated medical school from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, MS in 2014. She then completed the psychiatry residency program at the University of Kentucky, earning the title of Chief Resident in her final year.

In her training, Dr. Andrews had a special focus in community psychiatry that she plans to continue throughout her career. She is passionate about getting to know each of her patients and forming a therapeutic alliance. She takes an individualized approach to treatment for each patient to get the best outcome. Dr. Andrews’ goal is to improve the quality of life and overall well-being for each patient she sees through the use of medications and other therapies.

Dr. Andrews is family and community oriented. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, baking, and taking care of her pets.
